'Thalapathy 68' official announcement: Vijay and Venkat’s combo

Thalapathy Vijay's professional front is on a roll as the actor has a pipeline of films in his kitty. The megastar announced his new collaboration on Sunday where he revealed the film title of Thalapathy 68 which will be directed by Venkat Prabhu. The sound score of the film will be given by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Actor Vijay is one of the most prominent heroes of Kollywood and is a box office hit actor. He was last seen in the Tamil film, 'Varisu' and is now busy shooting for his next film with Lokesh Kanagaraj. A couple of days back it was reported that the actor will be signing up for his next film with Venkat Prabhu and the news is now true as the official announcement has been made by the movie makers. Taking to social media on May 21, Sunday, actor Vijay shared a video making an official announcement of the film.

This marks the second collaboration of Thalapathy Vijay with AGS Entertainment after the blockbuster success of 'Bigil' which is tentatively titled 'Thalapathy68', whereas AGS's 25th venture will be the production house's biggest film this far.

Tentatively titled 'Thalapathy 68', the movie will be helmed by Venkat Prabhu. The video shows a news paper puzzle that circles the name of the production house and producer, music composer. The film will be the first collaboration of Venkat Prabhu and Vijay and the music will be composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The rest of the information regarding the cast and crew of the film is expected to be revealed soon. Sharing the video, Vijay captioned it, "Next." Watch the video here!

On the work front, Vijay is currently shooting for 'Leo'. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the movie stars Vijay, Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priya Anand, Sandy, Mathew Thomas, Mysskin, Masoor Ali Khan among others in important roles. The music for the movie is compose by Anirudh Ravichander. The film is set to release in theatres on October 19.

Several directors have worked with the duo including AR Murugadoss, Vasanth Sai, SJ Suryah, KS Ravikumar, Vikraman, Ezhil, AL Vijay, and Perarasu. Janaki Soundar's 1995 released film 'Rajavin Parvaiyile' featured both superstars.

A statement by AGS read, "This will be AGS's biggest film so far. It'll be an entertainer that will be loved by all audiences. It will boast the best technicians of global standards."
