SS Rajamouli's RRR put regional and Indian cinema on a global map after its stupenduous run in the West. After winning an award each at Golden Globes 2023 and Oscars 2023, the film became the pride of Indian cinema. On June 29, it was announced that Jr NTR, Ram Charan, MM Keeravaani, KK Senthil Kumar, Chandrabose and Sabu Cyril had been invited to be members of The Academy. However, SS Rajamouli's name was left out from the list. The Baahubali director has now reacted to the same.
