Apart from Trossard, new signing Kai Havertz, Fabio Vieira and Bukayo Saka got on the scoresheet for Arsenal, while Robert Lewandowski, Raphina and Ferran Torres found the back of the net for Barcelona.
Lewandowski had put Barcelona in front in the 7th minute, but Saka cancelled that effort with a 12th minute equaliser. The English winger had the chance to give Arsenal the lead a few minutes later, but he missed from the spot before Raphina scored from a deflected freekick in the 34th minute.
In the closing stages of the first half, Havertz tapped in from close range to find the equaliser for Arsenal in the 43rd minute. Trossard added a brace in the second half, while Torres came off the bench to pull a goal back, but the game was put to bed by Vieira, who scored in the 90th minute.
